My name is Mrs. Cathy French. I am looking forward to a fabulous school year! I have been teaching junior high math at Sauganash since 2001. I love my job! I am lucky to work with an amazing staff and the fabulous students we are fortunate to teach. My philosophy of teaching is to transfer my love of math to each and every student. I utilize best practices such as co-teaching, math talks and problem-based learning assignments.
I have lived in Chicago my entire life. I am the proud wife of a Chicago firefighter and proud mother of one son and three daughters. I love sports, watching and competing. I usually will run several miles before school in the morning. I have run in the past 2 Chicago Marathons. In 2014 I ran to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes, and in 2015 I ran to raise money for Special Olympics. (In 2016, I won't be running the Chicago Marathon, but I will in 2017).
